Crafting for your home

Do you love the look of the quotes on a wall? Ever wondered how they do it? Removable Vinyl is the answer. We have the PROVO CRAFT removable vinyl sheets in stock now. These vinyl sheets are brown and measure 12"x24". Using a CRICUT or a computer die cutting machine you can create a quote or other words for your walls. How fun is that? I cut a big monogram for an odd little wall in the corner of my livingroom, my next project is a quote for the area above my computer desk.

Fun little stamps

How cute are these little acrylic stamps from Daisy Bucket? Well, they are super cute of course! We have lots of different designs and monogram letters to choose from. These would be great as cardmaking stamps and would also make awesome backgrounds for larger page layouts. Give 'em a try...they are like potato chips.......you can't stop at one.

We got our latest shipment of the CUTTLEKIDS dies in. Some new ones and a restock of all the ones that sold out so fast too! I have to say...those are going fast again!

More fun

How much fun can you have with all these great wooden die cuts from Provo Craft? LOTS! Bright colors and fun shapes to get your creative jucies flowing. They work beautifully on your pages and as magnets for your fridge or office walls. I am sure you can come up with some fabulous projects these will look great on. I think they would look great added to the ALTERABLE tins I mentioned a few posts ago. I used the APPLE cut to create a mini-book which is a class I am teaching on Thursday, November 1st.

Here's a close-up of the cute and cool Daisy D's transfer tapes. Fun and easy to use and they add just the right finishing touch to your project. Want to be on our Design Team?

We are starting our search for the next Picture This Customer Design Team.

Do you like to work with different products? Do you like a challenge? All we need from you is two layouts and one card or altered project that showcase your creative talents. Tenure for this team will be from February to July 2008. The projects you turn in for your application will be your first assignment. Deadline for consideration for our team is January 25th. We will announce the team on January 31st.

Projects must be made with current product that is available for purchase at Picture This.

What's in it for you? A 20% discount during your tenure as a Design Team member. Each month you will be given either a $10 store credit to work with or product to play with. For example: if you get a $2 set of stickers, you will get $8 in store credit. Each month we want two layouts or one layout and two cards or an altered project. We always want at least two projects with one being a layout. Your projects will be displayed on our Design Team board for one month and then it will be displayed in its appropriate spot in the store for two months (or until the product in project is gone). You get all your projects back.

More details will be coming in the future. If you have any questions feel free to ask at the store or leave a message here at the blog.

So get your crafting hats on, you have plenty of time to think about your submission projects.

Queen & Co FELT

We have gotten the new Queen & Co self-adhesive felt in the store! The hottest thing at the CHA Summer show has finally arrived. We have several styles and colors. We have them in bulk rolls and in packages with 1 yard segments. So much fun to play with!

Queen & Co felt is wonderful. The new release of the Queen & Co felts have arrived in the store and they are gorgeous and so easy to work with. You can't beat a self-adhesive backing! You can cut them apart and use them or leave the ribbon whole for a great border or edge. Stop in to see which designs we still have in stock. Widows weekend?

Deer hunting is coming and we all know what that means....Deer Hunting Widows will be needing something to do. For those of us lucky enough to have kids old enough to hunt or a babysitter willing to watch the kids, we can hang out at the store for the All Day Deer Hunters Widow crop! Register now for a seat on Saturday, November 17th from 10-5 for the crop. Cost is $10, lunch is included and there will be hourly door prizes for the registered croppers. BETTER YET, sign up for the Scrap-'til-midnight on November 16th and you can keep your things in the room so you can pick up right where you left off. Cost for the Friday night crop is $9 and includes a snack and a prize drawing.

You must register in advance for either event to hold your seat. Cancellation policy is the same, no refunds unless you cancel 48 hours in advance. Please check in at the desk before heading to the workroom so we can register your for the prizes.

ATC/Photo Holder Class

Are you into the ATC's or do you just need a nice place to hold wallet sized photos? There will be a class on November 5th from 6-7pm to teach you how to make this ATC/Photo holder. Cost of the class is $8.00. You will learn how to make the inside of this book using just one piece of 12X12 cardstock. There also will be a couple different paper choices for the outside covers.

Come in and see the in-store display filled with ATC's. This would make a great "Grandma's Brag book" for that special person on your Christmas list.

Mini-Book class

On November 1st we will have a mini-book class available featuring the wood die cut Apple from Provo Craft. Cost of the class will be $12 and run from 6-8pm. The mini-book would be perfect for your childs exchange size school photos, photos of their friends or even a great gift for a teacher. The book is around 4X4 inches. The photos show only a few of the pages that you will be completing in the class. Come into the store to check out the completed sample and see what other great classes we have coming up.

Halloween page kit

Have you got some photos from last years Halloween bash still sitting in boxes or envelopes? It's time to get them onto a page and into your albums because the next Halloween is just around the corner. We just created a cute Halloween page kit with some of the Reminisce and Pebbles papers stickers. Don't forget to check out our other page kits, there are many themes to choose from.

We will have a new Card Kit hitting the floor today. So if you need to have a few Wedding/Anniversary cards on hand this is your kit. I worked with the Reminisce "Wedded Bliss" line. Reminisce has gorgeous metallic cardstocks and text weight papers. The fun dies and embossing folders are from what else....Cuttlebug!! The hearts, flowers, rings, swishes, swirls and squares are all Cuttlebug dies and embossing folders we have available in the store. They add such a beautiful touch and it is so simple to use.

The kit includes some sentiments that you can use on any of the cards. Because I used the same line of papers you could mix and match the designs on all of them and create a totally different look. Come in and check it out.

Today we have a Christmas Card class scheduled with Julie and Thursday a class with Barb called "Flower Frenzy" is also scheduled.

And, don't froget....this Friday we have a Scrap-til-midnight....scrappin' time away from home from 6-midnight, browsing the store without the kids in tow, snacks and a prize....all for $9......sounds good to me!!

Thursday night we had a super fun time with our Cuttlebug DEMO, did you come in and check it out? Today we also had a Make & Take along with a demonstration of the Cuttlebug die cutter. Next week we are expecting a nice big shipment of cool new Cuttlebug dies and more machines. You'll have to stop by and see.

Cuttlebug again

Do I talk about the CUTTLEBUG a lot? Well, I LOVE that little machine. But seriously, we are having a DEMO Thursday afternoon from 4-6 and we will be offering the machine at a special price just so you too can experience the fun of having a CUTTLEBUG of your very own.

If you can't make it in for the DEMO tomorrow, stop by from 11-2 on Friday September 28th because I will be DEMOing the CUTTLEBUG again and we will be including a make-n-take so you can see for yourself what kinds of stuff can be done with the CUTTLEBUG. And you can still pick up a CUTTLEBUG of your own for that special price on Friday too!

Don't have room to spread out at home or just want to get together with some scrappin' pals? Our backroom is available to use anytime we don't have a class going on. Give us a call at (715)830-9555 to see if we have a specific date open for the classroom and get yourself signed up. All we need is a phone humber to contact you (in case there is a change in the schedule) and a count of how many of you will be coming with for the day. The classroom is FREE to use and we have many tools available for your use in the classroom, including our SIZZIX, SIDEKICK and BIG SHOT die cutters, along with over 20 alphabets.

THURSDAY and FRIDAY this week!!

This Friday we are going to have a DEMO of the CUTTLEBUG die cutter with a Make & Take thrown in just for fun. Come see the CUTTLEBUG in action and then create this pre-holiday card. You can see just how easy it is to emboss a piece of paper and make fun cuts with this tool. Join me from 11-2 on Friday, September 28th at Picture This.

On Thursday, September 27th a representative from Provo Craft will also be on hand doing a demo on the CUTTLEBUG from 4-6pm. So we will have two great days of fun with the CUTTLEBUG, and you know how much I love that little bug of mine...!

Product Review

Punches are a versatile tool for cardmaking, scrapbooking and paper crafting. Punches are also economical because once you own a punch you can use it to make your shape or design in tons of different colors to match your project.

Think out side the box: Just because you bought a circle punch doesn't mean you will only make circles. You can cut them in half and quarters or use the circle as a background for other punched shapes. A leaf can be used for Fall projects or, with the right papers, a wedding card. You just have to play, and isn't that the fun part of crafting, playing with all our tools??

So, dig out your punches today and get creative, or come in and check out the fun new designs we have gotten in. We got some cool bracket and keyhole shapes yesterday, how fun does that sound.....but they are going fast, we sold two of the brackets as soon as they hit the floor!

Stamps Stamps Stamps

See D's stamps have arrived along with the Inque Boutique. There are some really cool designs on these that you just have to see.

We also got these cute little stamps from See D's. They are only $1.15 per stamp, which is an awesome bargain. They measure 3X3 and have 1 to 12 images on each of the cards depending on the design. We have a Holiday set and an Everyday set. See D's stamps are all a colored rubber stamp with the image on the back so when you place it on your clear acrylic block you can see the image for placement. I have already bought some and made a Christmas card. They are easy to use and have a crisp image transfer.

Project TIme

Are you looking for a project to do? Here's a pretty little something you can do for Christmas or Fall this year, as a gift or just for you! This wreath is made with a foam floral wreath base, 2 yards of ribbon, 8 sheets of double sided patterned paper from Daisy Bucket, 168 straight pins, 336 punched flowers, 64 crystal gems and a battery operated candle.

I used a couple sizes of hand punches to punch out the flowers. I used 5 sheets of the paper to make the flowers and 3 sheets were used to cover the wreath base, but you could use paint or maybe moss to cover the base. Those fabulous Daisy Bucket papers have a really nice texture to it that makes it easy to mold the petals of the flowers before placing them on the base. It took me about 7 hours to do all the punching and pinning of the flowers and then placing the gems on the wreath.

Cuttle Kid

How cute is this. I know, I go on and on about the CuttleBug, but this is one tool I am just wishing I had been able to buy a long time ago. This little bug is designed with kids in mind, but us adults know how much fun kids stuff can be...am I right?

We have more CuttleBug and CuttleKid dies on the way....the new designs are going fast. The cute animals are just too adorable to pass up! You could say...I went "quackers" over the Quinton the Duck die.

Way back in July, at CHA, Stephenie H from FISKARS asked if I was or wanted to be a "Fisk-a-teer". I said "no I wasn't, but I'd love to be!" and figured it would just involve getting an invitation to their blog and see previews for new product and maybe a few more perks. Well, yesterday this little gem arrived in my mailbox. A pretty green and yellow handled pair of Fiskars scissors with my Fisk-a-teer number engraved on it. Packaged in a nice box lined with orange paper shreds and a cute little burlap baggie.
